Description

SIK-ISEA launched the project Ferdinand Hodler. Catalogue raisonné der Gemälde in 1998. Analysis by art historians has been complemented by findings from the use of art technology. Volume 1 devoted to the landscapes was completed in 2008 and Volume 2 containing the portraits in 2012. The third volume to the figure paintings was published in 2017. Volume 4, consisting of a biography, a selection of documents, contributions on various aspects of Hodler’s artistic life and its reception as well as an addendum and a corrigendum, was published in Mai 2018.

As a companion to the print version of the catalogue raisonné of paintings by Ferdinand Hodler, the online version at www.ferdinand-hodler.ch has offered a number of search facilities since 2009, including combined searches and links to exhibitions and secondary literature, as well as a visual chronology of the paintings. As it is embedded within the virtual environment of SIKART Lexicon of Art in Switzerland (www.sikart.ch), Hodler’s work can also be studied within the general context of Swiss art production.
